Tubby Time

Henry graduated from his infant tub to his tub seat.  He loves being able to kick and splash in the tub now.  And check out those rolls!  I could just eat him up!

Overalls

5 Months

Dear Henry,

You're 5 months old!  This past month you decided to start sleeping through the night.  Thank you!  You usually fall asleep by 8 or 8:30pm, and we won't hear a peep from you until around 6:30 or 7am.  You've also fallen into a little routine with your napping too.  You take a morning and afternoon nap, sleeping around 1 1/2 - 2 hours each time with a little 1/2 hour cat nap around dinner time.

Your biggest milestone for the month is that you started solids-rice cereal and oatmeal.  It took you a few weeks to really like the taste and texture of solid foods, but now you eat 'em like a champ!  You have oatmeal in the morning and rice cereal for dinner.  Mommy's going to wait until 6 months to try other purees or baby led weaning (I'm still reading up on it).  You still love your bottle, though, and know when it's coming now.  You can almost hold it by yourself, too.

You're growing so fast... it's like one day I blinked and you got so big!  You're so much more active and interactive:  you play with your toys and spin around in your exer-saucer, plus you finally figured out how to roll from your belly to back and are now rolling around everywhere.  I do miss the first few months when you were a tiny newborn, but I'm looking forward to you sitting up all by yourself - you're almost there!

You are such a happy baby.  You are mellow and serious some of the time, but if we catch you in the right mood you will squeal, shriek and smile on and on at mommy and daddy.  It warms my heart when you look right into our eyes and grin and coo.  The best is going into your room in the morning or after one of your naps and you flash the biggest smile and get so excited to see us.  You cuddle and snuggle with us in our bed when you wake up unexpectedly in the middle of the night or if its too early in the morning (which mommy secretly loves). You are obsessed with your toes and love to take your socks off so you can put them in your mouth.  You're also very tactile....always rubbing your blankie and feeling our clothes and other fabrics.  Those teeth of yours are really starting to bother you, too.  Some days you are like an animal trying to gnaw on anything and everything.  I wish somehow we could make your gums feel better!

Having you in our lives has been such a joy.  We are so lucky to know and love you, and wish there was more time in the day to spend with you.

We got to meet Baby Benjamin for the first time!  There are now three boys - Jackson, Henry and Benjamin in one of our circles of friends.  They seem so innocent right now, but I have a feeling that in the future these three together are going to be TROUBLE!!!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter with Henry.  We loaded up the car and Henry went on his first road trip to Canandaigua.  There were plenty of Easter baskets, several attempts at a family photo, and egg hunting with cousins.
