Lost Hospital Photos

My sister sent us these photos she took at the hospital right before Henry's first birthday for the slide show we made.  Edward and I had NEVER seen any of these photos before!  It was so sweet to see pictures of my baby only a few hours old.  The memories of his birth and the excitement of finally meeting him came back to me like it just happened yesterday.

12 month well visit

Height: 301/4 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 22 lbs 13 oz (50th percentile)
Head Circ: 48.5 cm (95th percentile)

Needless to say our boy is long and lean with a big head (for his big brain of course).  Haha.  Henry checked out great and he's right where he should be developmentally.  The shots though... HORRIBLE!!!  Three of them in his arms for the first time (they're usually done in his thighs) and a  finger prick for his lead test.   I never heard Henry scream so loud and uncontrollably before.  It was awful seeing him like that and then I had to leave him to go to work.

Milk and Cookies First Birthday Party

Back in September when Edward and I started thinking about Henry's first birthday party, we knew we wanted to keep it quaint and simple.  We wanted to enjoy Henry's special day and spend time with him, instead of trying to be the host of a huge party where we would likely miss out on things.  We kept the guest list small, served easy food and played a few games.  At first, I wasn't really into doing a "theme" per say, because Henry wasn't really "into" anything yet and I didn't want something to be forced upon him.  While searching the internet one night for first birthday party ideas, Edward and I came across a site that showed a "Milk and Cookies Party."  We immediately looked at one another and knew that was it.  What a perfect idea for a first birthday party, since it's when Henry can first drink milk and our kid has a love of sweets already.  After the theme was decided on we ordered some invitations and party decor from several different websites online and got some ideas from Pinterst and Etsy of course.  I couldn't have been happier with the way it all came together!  Everything was just perfect!!!
