Retro Valentines

My mom gave my sister and I our old Valentine's Day cards. Mine were dated back from 1982! I loved looking at all of them. And don't worry mom, I'm not going to throw them out...this is definitely a treasure I am going to hold on to.

#14 Hearts

Love was everywhere today! Happy Valentine's Day!!! XOXO

Chocolate Face

I realized I haven't had too many pics of Lilah...so here she is covered in her "nack" (snack) before bedtime.

#13 Picnik

Picnik is definitely one of my loves since I started blogging. I am crazy about the photo editing and all the effects you can play with.

#12 Vintage Table Runners

Found these on Etsy and just had to get them. I fancy the hand-stitched flowers on both...they're a sure sign of spring.

Winter Fun

We made Uncle Ed test the "steep" part first with Carter.
Not sure who was more afraid...mommy or son?!
His eyes were squeezed tight the entire way down!
Don't think we have the next Ryan Miller in the family...but by the second (and last) time around on the ice Carter did tell me he was "getting the hang of it" and had "good balance." (The good balance was due to me holding ALL of his weight up.)

It is "Classic Winter Week" in East Aurora. A wide variety of activities coordinated by the Aurora Recreation Department are planned for the week. Public skates at the Winter Classic Rink. Chili Challenge with local restaurants. Sledding. Cross country ski tours at Knox Farm...and many more. With my sister and the kiddos in Buffalo for the weekend, we decided to partake in some of the happenings.

#11 New Paint Colors

We finally decided on paint colors to paint our living room (latte) and dining room (kilim beige). I think we had 20 color sticks (who knew there were 100 different shades of brown & beige). We wanted to keep the color light because we have so much dark wood work in these two rooms. It doesn't look like much pictured above, but hopefully by the end of the week, these rooms will have had a little face lift.
#10 Beer fridge stocked in the man cave! (Which means all of Edward's beer is out of the kitchen fridge.)

THE BIG 30!

Going to see King (Lebron) James!!!
Make a wish!!!

On Tuesday, Edward turned 30!!! I had a class after work so I wasn't going to be able to be home until around 8 o'clock. He thought he wasn't going to be doing anything on his birthday night, but little did he know I took a 1/2 day off of work and had a few surprises up my sleeve. I had exactly 4 hours to get everything done.

To do list:
1. Pick up beer fridge from Home Depot (realize it doesn't fit in my car and have to call my dad to bring his truck).
2. Go to three beer stores looking for Edward's favorite beer (Brutal Bitter by Rogue). Village Beer Merchant on Elmwood finally came through for me.
3. Pick up cannoli cake at Romano's Italian Bakery out in Kenmore (kind of get lost on the way...thanks to no street sign on Starin).
4. Pick up 30 balloons at Tops (with my dad's help again...thanks!)
5. Set up clues around the house for Edward to follow when he gets home from work to find his birthday surprises.
6. Get to class and realize I forgot to leave the basement door open (which has one of the clues taped to it), panic, call Edward and try to explain to him what to do without giving to much information.

The look on his face when I got home....PRICELESS!!! HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!

#9 MY NEW 30 YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!! (AND BIRTHDAY SURPRISES)

I can't disclose too much information. More details to come. Shhh.

#8 Young House Love

A new blog I came across about a young couple falling in love with their first house. Sherry and John have renovated their entire home. There are tutorials on their home projects, as well as lots of before and after photos.

#7 Super Bowl Sunday at the Przylucki's

Nothing beats watching the Super Bowl with family, good munchies, and fun betting games. Check out my winnings..."I won all the monies!!!" I hope the Watson's are invited back next year to steal all the Przylucki's money again!!! This year also doubled as Edward's request to have a Bocce Club Pizza Party for his 30th!!! My husband loves him some pizza and Bocce's is his favorite in WNY (with Pasquale's a close second).

# 6 Clementines

Edward and I can't get enough of these delicious clementines lately. I think this is the fourth box we've bought since the new year started.

#5 Pink Carnations (on our table)

How simple you are. Remember the "Sex and The City" episode where Charlotte declares them to be filler flowers, while Carrie finds them endearing? I love when Berger shows up at her door holding a huge bouquet of pink carnations and declares, "I hear they're making a comeback!"

#4 Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

I am in love with my new perfume from Sephora. I had been wearing Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for some time now, and since the bottle was empty it was the perfect opportunity to try a new scent. I think I stood in front of the perfume wall at Sephora for an hour with 10 different scent sticks in my hand before I decided on this one.

I go through perfume like water. I inherited this trait from my dad. My mom would always ask us if we drank our perfume/cologne. "I've had the same bottle of perfume for years," she would say. My dad and I, on the other hand, would need a new one every few months. Hey, we like to smell good! Needless to say, I've tried a lot of different perfumes. Other favorite scents of mine - besides the two mentioned above - are Marc Jacobs and Dior J'adore.

#3 Pottery Barn Veranda Linear Chandelier

Saw it in the Pottery Barn catalog and think it would look great in our dining room. PRETTY PLEASE EDWARD??? (He thinks there is nothing wrong with the chandelier that is in there already, but I'm working on him.)

#2 Ann Taylor Loft Lean Boyfriend Jeans

Patiently waiting for them to go on sale so I can get a pair! Super cute and comfy. Check out more Spring looks that I love here.
#1 LOST

The last, and final season of Lost begins tomorrow!!! I have watched this show from the very beginning and have been sucked into it for the last 6 years. It has turned out to be nothing like I ever expected. Edward and I have watched every season premiere and finale with my mother. We go to my parents' house to have dinner and then congregate on the couch to watch the show. Of course, we DO have to listen to Ed analyze every detail and think out loud as my mom and I "shush" him.

Love Month

February has arrived...and with it comes love. I am going to try and post 14 DAYS OF LOVE, which will include things that I LOVE at this very moment. Here it goes...
