Cake No More
The thought of saving the top layer of our wedding cake for a year and having to eat it on our 1st anniversary was kind of nasty. Instead we decided to eat it all up now. My parents were quick to come over with ice cream and enjoy some more delicious cake. It is now Thursday and all the cake is GONE!!!
FIRE
Edward and I checked into the hotel, brought our bags up and by the time we came back down fire trucks filled the street and smoke was high in the sky. The Copper Leaf (located a few doors down from the Prince of Wales) was up in flames in no time and the fire quickly spread to the buildings next to it. The street was closed off and the firemen battled the blaze all day and into the night. By the next morning demolition had started on two of the buildings. We weren't able to go on our carriage ride which was included in our stay (don't worry Ed got it taken off our bill). What an experience for my first time in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Niagara-on-the-Lake
We weren't able to go on a honeymoon right away because of school, but we were able to sneak away to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a romantic getaway as husband and wife.

Celebrating
Starting the Blog
I have been inspired by my sister to start my own blog. Over the last year she has shared her family's story and we have followed their every move. Since Edward and I are anti-Facebook and we still don't understand the purpose of Twittering (Tweeting?), we decided this would be a great way to share our story with friends and family around the country... and world.
We are so excited to be married and look forward to the memories our first year of marriage is sure to bring.
