We were so excited for the highlight of the summer in East Aurora! We threw our annual 3rd of July party and got our red, white and blue on! We celebrated with a house (yard) full of guests, lots of fun, and patriotic shenanigans. It was so great to see everyone (except being the hosts and having a toddler doesn't let you sit around and hang out too much...oh well). It's crazy to see how our bash has evolved since we had our first one just four years ago. What started as a small get together with friends and family has turned into quite the kid fest. Seeing the kids having fun and enjoying all the festivities EA has to offer...especially one of the best parades around! Our neighbors had their annual water balloon toss which is now broken into age categories because there are so many participants between the two of our parties.
It started raining (down pouring, actually) shortly before the fireworks were scheduled in the park near our house, which was such a bummer because it meant that they would probably be cancelled. The fireworks are UNBELIEVABLE and it was especially upsetting since so many of the kids were staying up past their bedtimes to see them. Unfortunately, many party guests decide to leave since the chance of the rain letting up wasn't looking very promising. Just as Edward went to run and retrieve all of our soaked stuff at the park, the rain stopped and literally seconds later RED, WHITE & BOOM! They starting shooting off the fireworks! Those of us who were left ran down to the end of our street to see them a bit better...our night was MADE. Because what is the Fourth of July without fireworks!?!
I know everyone looks forward to the patriotic fun each year and I hope you had a magical Fourth of July.
