Nickel City Chef

The second floor of the showroom was outfitted with two competition-worthy kitchens.
The chef from Shango after the host announced that he had won. Yay for Shango (one of our favorite restaurants)!

Edward and I joined his parents for the Nickel City Chef challenge at Artisan Kitchens & Baths. The audience watched as the Nickel City Chefs attempted to create their three best dishes in under an hour showcasing the secret ingredient (for those of you who have seen Iron Chef, it's pretty much the same thing). All of the secret ingredients come from right here in Western New York! This week's chefs were Paul Jenkins from Tempo and Jim Guarino of Shango Bistro & Wine Bar... and the secret ingredient was pork (chops, pork belly, bacon). Guest judges determined which chef prepared the most technically perfect, creative and delicious cuisine. We were even able to enjoy snacks and drinks catered by Sample while experiencing the cooking competition. What a fun way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon!

*Sorry for the blurry photos in the last few posts. The Cannon is dead and I haven't charged it yet. Instead, I've been relaying on Edward's iPhone!
