Thursday night my sisters, brother-in-law and I went to see the Zac Brown Band (ZBB) and the Southern Ground Tour in Canandaigua. If you are not a country music fan then you might not know who they are. If you are, then you are aware of the great music these guys make.
Bands usually host a "Meet and Greet" at their concerts where fans have the opportunity to briefly meet them, say hello, and get an autograph and picture. (If you remember, my sister and I met Kenny Chesney last summer.) ZBB takes the idea one step further and hosts an "Eat and Greet" before their shows. This was a concept he and his fan club put together to get to know the fans.
My brother-in-law John worked his magic once again (by exchanging emails with T-Bird, the president of the fan club) and arranged for us to go to the Eat and Greet. We had the opportunity to hang out with the band for an hour before the show and enjoyed a fantastic plate of southern grub cooked and prepared by Zac and Chef Rusty featuring some of Zac's own recipes.
As we walked into the tent, it felt like we were at a cookout and not a pre concert event. Zac and the band made their way to all the tables to say hello and start up conversations with people. On our way to the buffet line we were intercepted by Zac Brown himself and asked us if we were having a good time. He seemed to be a very genuine artist.
This was a super cool concert experience!!!
