You're two months! Your stats at your two month doctor's appointment were...
Height: 24 1/2 inches (89th percentile)
Weight: 12 lbs. 7 oz. (72nd percentile)
Head Circ: 41 inches (75th percentile)
You've really grown into your skin in the last month! No more wrinkly skin.... you are filling out baby! Already, there have been so many changes with your development too. You definitely know who Mommy and Daddy are now. You know our faces and our voices. You can follow moving objects-like us. You track us with your eyes as we move about the room or look at us if we are talking to you. You enjoy your baby equipment around the house-swing, chair, Boppy, Moby, and especially your play mat. You kick and swing your arms at the animals hanging from it like crazy! The absolute BEST thing you've started to do in the last few weeks is SMILE!!! It melts our hearts when you smile at us. You've also started to coo. I love hearing you have a "conversation" with us.
You started sleeping in your crib. Mommy made a gradual transition from your Moses basket to your crib. I started with naps for a week and then worked up enough courage to finally put you in it overnight. You sleep terrific in it! No problems what so ever!
After all the holiday business, Mommy started working with getting you on a routine... somewhat baby led and somewhat parent led. I've been using a few books as a guide and so far you've been doing well with it. Actually, you've already become little "off" when there is a change in your day (Oh no...am I creating a monster!?!). You drink 4-5 oz bottes/7-8 times a day. Mommy is still pumping and giving you one formula bottle a day. You usually take 3 one hour long naps during the day. You go down around 8:00-8:30PM for bedtime and wake between 3:00-5:00AM to eat and then right back down you go until 7:00-8:00AM. The only time you have a hard time sleeping is at the grandparents' houses or if people are over at our house. It's like you know something is different and you don't want to miss out on anything.
You are a homebody already. You've only been to the grandparents' houses and a quick trip to Lowes, Target and BJs (all lasting less than a half hour). Mommy doesn't want you in public places with all those nasty germs! Lot's of family and friends have come over to meet you and hold you.
Can't wait to see what next month brings! It's my last month home with you until I have to go back to work :(
Love,
Mommy & Daddy
