Bethany Beach Vacation: The Drive

We loaded the car up to its gills and headed off on our first family vacation together.  Our destination was Bethany Beach, Delaware.  Edward and I are both beach lovers so it seemed fitting for our family of three to go there.  It was within reasonable driving distance with a toddler (8 hours) and we had heard great reviews from others that had vacationed there themselves.  We decided to split up the drive; halfway on Friday night after dinner and staying in Scranton, PA, then waking up Saturday morning to tackle the last 4 hours...which, by the way, ended up being like 6 hours because of the beach traffic once we were in Delaware.  Henry was a champion traveler and did awesome in the car.  I was really worried how he would be cooped up that long in the car, but he surprised us.  We had lots of toys, books, and snacks packed to keep him occupied, along with episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the iPad.
Say "VACATION!"

Edward excited to be driving down to Bethany Beach.

All jammied up and watching Mickey on the iPad.

Hotel room in the morning.
Henry was asleep by the time we checked in the night before so that was a new place for him.

Day 2 in the car.  Passing the time by reading some books.

Bethany Beach here we come!!!

We finally made it!
Out of the car, stretching our legs and playing in the fountain while daddy gets the parking pass and guest tags for the week.

The view from our 8th floor condo.
